Year 04 Students learn about Capacity

Learning in fun ways is what the hard-working students in Year 4 enjoy best about coming to school. In maths, they have been engaged in carousel activities learning about capacity. Working in pairs or in groups of 4, they have been applying and honing their skills in estimating, measuring and solving word problems.

Incorporating fractions, percentages and decimals into some of the word problems ensured that the students were revising and reinforcing prior concepts learnt throughout the course of the year.

At the end of the activities, the children had to make up their own word problems for their peers in the other classes as a challenge. All students loved it!
