The Sixth Form at the British School in Colombo is a very special place, offering a contemporary and broad academic curriculum alongside extensive life-skills and enrichment opportunities. All students are prepared for A Level courses offered by Cambridge Assessment International Education.
In line with BSC’s belief in individualised learning, prospective Year 12 students receive independent specialist counselling and guidance to secure the pathway that best fits their needs in Year 11 and again in August of each year upon receipt of their IGCSE results.
Each pathway is designed to ensure that all graduates of the British School in Colombo able to and prepared for placement in to the world’s finest universities.
Built in to each student’s individual timetable is an engaging, multi-faceted programme of Enrichment to further augment the academic rigor of our curriculum. The Enrichment programme includes the opportunity for students to widen their school experience by involvement in a range of social work and charity endeavours, the Duke of Edinburgh’ International Award, a range of as well as a series of specialist-led lectures and forums to engage students in understanding the world around them and the challenges of the twenty-first century.
Individual timetables include specific periods assigned to Independent Study and Preparation, a vital skill for success at university.
