We use the new National Curriculum for England as our core curriculum. The standards of attainment are measured against expectations for schools in England, using standardised assessments from the UK.
Pupils are regularly assessed in reading, writing and spelling to make sure that their progress is on a par or exceeding these expectations and each pupil’s progress and attainment are formally reported home on a termly basis.
Pupil-centred and active learning are evident in the classroom with tasks and activities being differentiated to cater for individual needs and enabling each child to progress. Teaching Assistants in the younger year groups provide additional opportunities for small group work and individual support and challenge if pupils need extra assistance in their learning or need to be further extended in class.
