The Year 4s were able to present Madagascar with great pride, raising the bar for future productions, post pandemic. A production like this would not be possible without the tireless efforts of our pupils, who have shown exceptional dedication. Congratulations to all of the cast members, choir members, and dancers. You should be extremely proud of the truly incredible show you put on.
It was a herculean task to select pupils for various roles as they were multi-talented in many areas. Their dedication, punctuality, and eagerness to get it right were inspiring. They were all steadfast and unwavering throughout the long hours of rehearsals, gaining critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
It was truly our pleasure to have worked with the children on this exciting project. Performing in a musical is an experience that young people will remember for the rest of their lives. Active Participation in this production provided our Year 4 pupils with a chance to explore their creativity and imagination in a structured and safe environment. This musical was specifically remarkable because it was a way to combine all areas of the fine arts: acting, singing, dancing, and visual arts. This has definitely improved their literacy skills: From reading scripts to memorising lines to learning to tell a story, they continued to improve their literacy skills while rehearsing and performing for Madagascar. Furthermore, we can surely say that our pupils have become confident public speakers: It took a lot of courage for them to stand up and sing or dance in front of their family, peers, and what may seem like the entire community.
Putting on a musical is a team effort, and every member of the team must collaborate to make it a success. The numerous adults who helped to create this show must also be acknowledged and thanked. It never ceases to amaze me what can be accomplished, and you have all done an outstanding job in the background working tirelessly to ensure the highest caliber of work in your respective fields of expertise.
In conclusion, it was nothing short of an outstanding performance, one that will be in our heart for a very long time.
