Shining Bright in Year 1

It has been wonderful to welcome all the children back to physical school this week. As a part of our PSHRE Curriculum Year 1 children were engaged in team building games using the parachute!

To be able to ensure the parachute could move up and down safely the children had to work together. 

Once the children had mastered the technique needed they were able to successfully play the games which involved lots of careful listening and communicating. Children confidently took part in all the games and were responsible when they had to take turns.

The games were linked to phonics and maths to consolidate children’s classroom learning. They also enjoyed inventing their own games which helped them to build up their creative thinking.
