A Strong Start for EYFS!

Starting back at school after a long summer break is often difficult for young children. With the children having had so much more time at home due to lockdown, the EYFS team were well prepared to support the emotional development and well-being of children, as we welcomed them back to school.  

Important routines and procedures were well established to ensure guidelines were followed and both teachers and children kept safe. The children took it all in their stride as they stepped into the playground to be greeted by the wonderful Early Years team.  

Having been back at school for two weeks, these procedures are thoroughly embedded, and the children happily make their way to the classrooms, chatting with the teachers as they go.  

At BSC, we understand that for parents, this can be a difficult time too. Children have a deep emotional bond with their parents, which it is why it can be hard for them when arriving in an unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar people. For parents, letting go can be a struggle and this is all very normal and expected. Even as adults we feel so much better when arriving somewhere new, when we have strong connections to those around us. Therefore, it is important to us at BSC that we establish strong relationships with children from day one and communicate with parents who may feel a little worried or anxious.  

It has been wonderful to see so many of the children engaged, happy and reassured by the teachers around them, showing eagerness to return to school each day. 

This strong start ensures children feel safe and secure and ready to learn. We are very excited for the journey the children are about to embark on and thank all our parents for putting such trust and faith in our team. We care very much about giving your child the very best start, to ensure they develop a lifelong love of learning.
