The British School in Colombo, the Department of Geography organised an educational visit to the Department of Meteorology in Colombo for the Year 8 students.
The visit was very informative and useful, as our students have learned about ‘Weather and Climate’. On that note, it was clear that how our students were interestingly taking notes during the presentation, organised by the Met. Department, Colombo.
Our students got the opportunity to watch the launch of an upper air balloon and understood the process of it. Though it was a hot sunny day, our students showed their tireless enthusiasm to explore the weather station there.
From the students’ feedback, we realised that many of them had learned new weather instruments and gained some new knowledge and understanding about the topic of Weather.
We are sure that the visit was very educational and fun for our young Geographers.
