Delegates and Administrative Staff members were present at OSC from 7 am till 5.30 pm on Saturday, and engaged in fruitful debate while making many new friends from across schools in Sri Lanka. The beauty of MUN is that our students extend their network beyond the walls of this school. Engaging with other students, cultures and backgrounds opens up their mind further to the world views and ideas around them, and in this regard, Saturday’s Practice Debate was indeed a huge success, as most of our Delegation this year are ‘Novice’ delegates.

I must mention in particular the stellar work and effort of Janek and Mandri who are making the school very proud with their work at this Conference, and I was equally pleased to see students supporting students when Arsh, the newest member of Team BSC, was made to feel very comfortable in his Committee by Husein and Nirek.

We now gear up for our upcoming Bake Sale in school on Friday the 1st of February, and then our next Practice Debate on Saturday, the 2nd of February. The proceeds from our Bake Sales over the next two weeks will go towards the COMUN Community Service Project, where BSC won the award last year for the school with the most contributions in this regard, we hope to find an equal amount of support for this cause this year as well.

MUN Season has just begun, and we couldn’t be more excited!! My heartiest congratulations to all our delegates for making it onto the Team this year, and I wish them all the very best for our upcoming engagements.

Ms. Mahum Kidwai (Faculty Advisor)
