Year 5 students learn about Measurement

Share
General Junior

The last two weeks have seen a rise in excitement for Year 5 pupils as they have all started their new Maths groups - or teams as they like to call them! Children have been enjoying working in smaller classes with new teachers and/or pupils. We have started with a focus on measurement and children have been learning how to convert units of measure to enable them to order measurements on a given scale and solve problems. Some children have even used their measuring skills to make delicious biscuits at home!

Over the next term we will be focusing on developing children's mental maths strategies and their use of mathematical reasoning, a critical skill that enables pupils to make use of all other mathematical skills.
