The First Day
We arrived at school at 5pm on the 28th of April and started with composing our Pack Song. The beautiful flower themed names our packs were at this camp were:
Tiny Tulips
Ruby Roses
Luscious Lavenders
Darling Daffodils
I was with the Luscious Lavenders and our pack song went like this:
We are the Violet Lavenders,
Lending loads of help to friends,
We are sweet, nice and bright,
Lend a hand.
We practiced our song, had dinner, watched a movie and went to bed.
The Second Day
We started our second day, waking up at 7am, getting dressed, having breakfast in the canteen and waiting for our Museaus College Little Friends to arrive. A number of our Junior School teachers came in through the day to organise some really fun activities and games for us. The first game we played as the Museaus College students arrived, involved a hula hoop.
The next game, was an obstacle course race using cones, balls, tunnels and a hula hoop, which was great fun! Following that, we had lunch and played some water games. For the first exciting challenge, we all lined up in teams and passed water down the line from the first person to the last, using just our hands! The last person in the line then ran over to a bottle and poured the water they were carrying in their hands, into it and the team which filled up the bottle the most, won!
We were assigned partners for the third game and given balloons. Both partners had to walk carefully down the patio, back to back, with a balloon filled with water, in between us, without dropping it. On the way back, the balloon had to be held between our foreheads so we had to be very careful not to drop it or we would have got drenched from head to toe! Once we finished that game, we played catch with the balloon, with the same partners and since none of the balloons popped whilst we were throwing them, we all sat on the balloons to much shrieks and laughter! Are pants got SOAKED!
Our Museaus College friends left after we had loads of fun together and we showered, had a delicious dinner which included the yummy chocolate biscuit pudding we had made and went to bed.
The Last Day
We woke up at 6am and changed into our Formal Little Friends outfit, complete with scarf, woggle, badges and a yellow sash for those who had achieved the Golden Bar. Then we went down to breakfast after which we practiced our pack songs and skits we were going to perform for our parents at the closing ceremony. We also laid out the arts and crafts we had made as an exhibition for our parents to see.
Our parents found our little acts and routines very funny and enjoyable and after we went through the Little Friends pack song, Ms.Cook handed out our certificates to us and we were ready to head home after a wonderful time with our friends and happy memories to take back.
We especially want to thank our Fanstastic Sylvana, Ms.Sonali Senaratne for all her caring and the hard work she put in to organise this special time for us! We also want to say a big thank you to Ms Nilushi, Ms Shenaya, Ms Buddika and Ms Saheli who were with us at the camp and the other lovely teachers who visited us during the camp to help us enjoy it. We are truly grateful!
