Year 1 Parent Workshop and Book Look

What a wonderful start to the week, to have our Year 1 Parents in for our first Book Look of the year. Parents joined Ms Laura in the auditorium for an insight into reading at BSC, sharing our aims, what reading looks like in the classroom and the importance of phonics in Year 1. They were then able to go to classrooms to share some time with their child looking at their books.

Children were able to tell their parents what they had been learning at school in Block 1 as well as sharing some of the work that they were most proud of. It was lovely to see the children being so articulate and passionate about their own learning. We look forward to our next sessions and lots more sharing!
