Did you know Vikings didn’t call themselves Vikings?
They called themselves Ostmen and could also be referred to as Norsemen, Norse, or Danes.
Year 6 celebrated their Viking Day to conclude their history topic. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by the children as they dressed up as Vikings and created a range of Viking objects/artifacts. They learned to write using Viking Runes while also making creative jewellery with amulets.
Vikings day was an exciting blend of fun, innovation, learning, and active participation.
