As an educator, I am passionate about the power of reading and so I was delighted to hear about Janani’s wonderful book. Inspired by her teachers, by her reading and through sheer hard work, Janani has compiled her collection of short stories and poems into 3 chapters – Blue Sapphire, Diamond and Ruby – that together make up her Jewellery Box. Janani has developed such creative flair in her writing over the years and it is wonderful to see how much she has grown as an author.
The book is a sparkling collection of Janani’s work: it perfectly celebrates her writing and demonstrates her passion for the world around her. Janani’s choice of title, Janani’s Jewellery Box, captures the eclectic mix of stories and poems from a wide range of genres wonderfully. In her forward to the book, Janani cites reading as her inspiration for such excellent uses of vocabulary and stylistic devices and also leaves her readers with the quote, “Success doesn’t come automatically, it comes through hard work and dedication.”
On Friday 28th August 2020, I was delighted to receive the very first copy of Janani’s book. The book will be on sale soon for Rs700 with all proceeds going to charity. Please look out for further details.
Congratulations to Janani – I do hope that she will continue to be inspired by what she reads, and that this anthology will further promote the power of reading to other young authors at BSC.
