All students in Years 8 and 9 engaged in a fun-filled activity to learn about the importance of “TEAMWORK” during our Key Stage Assembly, this week.
The aim of the activity was for each class to move from Point A to Point B using any or all of the resources provided: 3 sheets of newspaper, a pair of scissors and a cello tape. Students were challenged to brainstorm the best strategies and put them to test. Intriguing thought patterns were clearly evident in the manner our young students took up the challenge to compete with each other.
The Lecture Hall and the Examination Hall was a buzz with much noise. Whilst most classes’ strategies went well according to plan, others moved on to find alternative solutions very quickly - reflecting on the task at hand and the objective to be accomplished. Indeed, all classes were successful!
Having either, walked or slid across the floor, students truly enjoyed the morning activity. Most importantly, Year 8 and 9 students discussed the importance of teamwork and what constitutes of an effective team. Key phrases such as communication, trust, responsibility, thinking creatively, understanding each other’s strengths and weaknesses were captured in our debriefing for the day.
Form Tutors encouraged our students to build further on the topic of TEAMWORK by creating posters during Form Time.
We are truly appreciative of all the efforts made by our wonderful students and teachers. They truly showed the spirit of togetherness and teamwork.
