In the junior school we have started to celebrate house points weekly in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two assemblies. The runner up and winner of the most house points collected is celebrated by adding their ribbon to the trophy, in addition to recording on the display board in the Junior stairwell.
Results from house points gained in class will be combined with other inter-house events over the year to count toward the overall trophy for the academic year.
The house system is designed to get children from each year working together. Our house captains from year 6 support children across all years; it was great to see them supporting the inter-house netball a few weeks ago, inspiring and leading their house mates.
How can children earn house points? Children work hard in class and are awarded house points for maintained effort. The house point display board will give children more ideas, the Cambridge attributes leading them to success in all areas.
Our Head Boy Senaka's thoughts on the House Points Process
"This Year we present Housepoints as a very important process programme. House points are not just points you earn for your behaviour but they give your house a boost for any friendly Inter House event. So we are hoping that everyone is doing their best to achieve them".
