Good morning,
Last week in Year 4 we took our learning outside of the classroom. All classes took it in turns to go up to the roof top, by the sports terrace to observe the traffic on the road outside our school. The children were collecting data for their maths lesson so that they could then take this data back to their classrooms and present their data using different tables and charts and then interpret what that data means to our school.
The children enjoyed counting all the different vehicles which pass by our school each day. The children also commented on the huge amount of numbers of vehicles, which we were seeing and we discussed the impact this is having on our environment. The children came up with some super ideas for reducing these numbers. People walking more and car sharing were two popular ideas.
