Mini-beasts in Reception A

We have had a super time in all the Reception classes learning about mini-beasts. We have learned about which have 6 legs, 8 legs, and a lot more legs, such as the millipede and centipede.

There have been a lot of interesting and stimulating tasks to complete and the children have loved sharing what they already knew and what they have learned. Playing with the different sizes of mini-beast toys has been a highlight and of course they teach us all many things.

We learn through the medium of play and in Reception A we have really enjoyed making our own mini-beast using play-dough and we were able to add different eyes, legs and tails, as well as complete given pictures of mini-beasts with parts missing to be supplied by play-dough!

After the mid-term break we will be thinking about the life-cycle of the butterfly, so we will be adding to what we already know.
