Year 6 has just finished their science topic on the human body and its various systems. The students enjoyed undertaking a variety of practical investigations to help them understand the functions of the organs.
For example, in order to understand how the lungs work, the children used balloons, a plastic bottle and clay to create a functioning model.
In order to understand how saliva helps break down food, the children participated in a starch test using bread and iodine.
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed the unit of work and were fascinated with the facts and information they learned.
