DEEPAVALI CELBRATIONS

Students in all Key Stages created a wonderful Deepavali celebration that included readings, traditional prayer, dance and song to mark the important Deepavali Festival celebrations that will take place not only in Sri Lanka but all over the world this week.

Students in the Senior School were welcomed by a beautifully created colourful Rangoli or Kolam, the smell of incense and oil lamps as they entered the Auditorium, to be welcomed in the traditional way by our performers.

The Festival of Lights was welcomed by an informative explanation of the significance of Deepavali as a festival as well as informative explanations of the significant cultural traditions. Outstanding dances by our talented dancers, resplendent in colourful costumes completed the programme.

It is wonderful that at BSC, members of many nationalities created this memorable and colourful programme to wish us all a very happy Dipavali!
