FACULTY OF LAW DEBATES 2017

Our BSC Debating Teams ended what was an enormously successful year for them at this final competition which was held this past weekend at St. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia. Team A consisted of Uzair Kidwai, Ujkan Sulejmani, Avantha Jayasinghe and Kishori Opatha, while Team B consisted of Patrick De Kretser, Migara Gunawansa, Dasun De Silva and Monika Saleh. Both teams have been instrumental in making a mark for BSC this entire academic year during the numerous debating competitions which they’ve attended, and at the Faculty of Law debates our Team B did particularly well and just missed out on breaking to the quarter finals by 1 point!!

Our individual speaker scores were very high and all judges unanimously commended our debaters on their style and content. The BSC Debating Society will miss our Year 13 debaters Uzair, Ujkan, Patrick, Dasun, and Kishori immensely as they graduate from school, and we hope that the next generation of debaters continue to keep the debating legacy alive, and to do justice to what these students have managed to achieve over the years for the school.

All in all, we look forward to yet another successful debating season next year, and would like to thank all our students for making the school very, very proud with their determination and dedication.
