In the Early Years Foundation Stage, the children have been enjoying various phonics activities aimed at developing their reading and writing skills.
Activities range from sound hunts to making playdough letters, writing, and drawing letters in sand and flour, and a whole host of other tactile indoor and outdoor activities.
We want our EYFS children to consolidate their understanding of letters and sounds in fun and practical ways.
They have lots of opportunities to expand their understanding through hands-on exploration and interactions with adults and peers. During these meaningful play sessions, children become active participants in their learning.
