A Busy Senior School Summer Term Unfolds

General Senior

As we wrapped up the Humanities Week recently Book Week last week, it is also worthwhile to observe that the normal day-to-day life in the Senior School is rich with a wide range of enjoyable and challenging learning activities. As students recommenced their sporting and other extra-curricular activities this term, some even decided to experience a new sport, skill or service activity before concluding their academic year!

So far this term, our basketball players have been involved in four tournaments and the football players in one tournament. Recently, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award entrants and Award Leaders participated in focus group interviews for a preliminary research study for investigating why some students leave the Award without completing it. In-depth findings from the full investigation will certainly help us to support our entrants better to complete their Awards successfully.

The students in the three Key Stages have been putting their minds, bodies and souls into their academic work as the exam season for all Key Stages is upon us.

While the Year 11 and Year 13 students are facing their public examinations, the Year 10 students have been studying logic gates in Computer Science and writing essays in Sinhala while investigating practical Physics concepts.
