Interactive Mathematics learning through MyMaths
MyMaths is a fully interactive online teaching and homework resource website that builds on pupil engagement in their Mathematics lessons. It will help students to develop their understanding of Mathematics through a variety of engaging activities It has been used by approximately 4 million students in over 70 countries each year for the last 10 years with a proven track record in raising standards of achievement. Junior school has been successfully using Mymaths for last 4 years and now senior school also got the license for Mymaths which makes all students from years 1 to 3 are able to use Mymaths. All students are registered on Mymaths website and given username and password to access at home for self-learning and to complete online homework.
Some of the advantages of MyMaths are:
- It builds students skills and confidence and fluency in Mathematics through lessons,
homework, games and booster packs.
- It assesses the progress of every child, giving instant feedback for the teacher, child
and parents.
- Contents are written in line with the new national curriculum in England so follow
the current suggested good practice and strategies.
- It contains hundreds of lessons and homework activities for all year groups.
- It contains a wide range of Maths games that are educational, interactive and fun for
all abilities of children.
- Fun and interactive for the children so it engages them in their learning.
- Children enjoy having their homework to complete on the computer.
- Children can access the lessons on MyMaths for support in completing their homework, as each homework task has an accompanying explanation (lesson).
- No need to wait for the homework to be marked as MyMaths will do this for the child, giving instant feedback, rather than having to wait to the end of the week for it to be marked.
- If a child achieves a low score they can talk to their teacher the next day or message them on dB, rather than having to wait until the homework is marked to find out.
- This could mean that they have time to have another attempt at the homework before it is due in.
- Homework tasks and lessons have randomly generated questions so that repeated homework/lesson pages are never exactly the same.
- Teachers can track the children’s progress of completed homework, attainment and self-assessment. Easy to use traffic light system and child self-assessment means children who find the homework challenging are quickly identified by teachers.
- Children and parents can track their progress easily and identify areas of strength
and those that can be practised more at home.
- There are a wide range of extra activities that children can do at home. The games
are all linked to specific areas of the Maths curriculum as well as longer real life
investigations for all year groups.
- Children have access to all the lessons, not just those set through homework, so can
became independent learners selecting other areas of Maths to learn and consolidate.
- Provides opportunities to extend the more able pupils and support the less able,
through specifically designed booster packs.
- It increases the children’s mental capabilities as they have to use a range of different
mental strategies to complete the homework tasks.
We hope this will help students to do better in Mathematics and we are looking forward to see their success.
