The Blue and Gold Quiz

On Wednesday the 7th of November, a quiz team from the British School in Colombo consisting of four students participated in the 27th Royal College Blue and Gold Quiz. The team comprised of the Sixth Formers, Vidusha Chandrasena, Leon Herath, Pehan Ambawatte and Anjanaa Prabagar. All the team members have had experience in inter-school quiz competitions. Being busy leaders in many other school activities, the four still managed to organise their time to make their way to Royal College last week.

The competition organised by the Royal College General Knowledge Club was on general knowledge and had five rounds each consisting of ten questions along with and additional special round. Even though our team could not obtain a place in the top three, it was a great experience as we were competing against many other schools from Down South to the North. Through this, we were able to get a glimpse of how the other schools performed and next time we will be able to prepare and perform so that we can gain a place in the top three.

This is the second time that the British School in Colombo has taken part in the event. The event allows the British School students to discover different quiz arenas, to learn and appreciate the historical, cultural and geographical richness of our island country, and to meet peers with similar passion for knowledge.
