The Senior School Choir participated in the prestigious Asia-Pacific World Choir Games held in Colombo between Saturday 21st October and Saturday 28th October 2017.
Participating in a competition that welcomed choirs from all over the world, BSC’s Senior Choir secured an outstanding Silver Medal in the highly challenging Grand Prix Competition, performing in the Jazz/Pop/Show category.
Our choristers performed with absolute professionalism and accomplishment at the competition, held at the prestigious Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre. Not only were they representing the British School in Colombo, they were also representing Sri Lanka in a competition that welcomed choirs from hailing from China, Croatia, India, Indonesia, Russia among many others.
As well as the competition itself, our Choir took part in many other events throughout the week that included the Opening Ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence, Temple Trees, in the company of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
We must thank Ms Shamistha and her team for the tireless weeks of practice and preparation, as well as the wonderful parents and families who supported many hours of rehearsal and the events themselves.
Congratulations to our Choir on another, truly world class success!
