Year 4 Look back on all they accomplished during the year

The end of year is always a time which calls for reflection in terms of what has been achieved as well as a time to prepare for what lies ahead. The Year 4 pupils got a brilliant idea to reinforce some of the concepts learned in humanities and science through the medium of practical hands-on mini-projects.

They worked collaboratively in groups to conceive ideas about how best to portray their learning. They had to think of which materials would best suit making buildings that depicted the influence of colonial rule in Sri Lanka’s history. 

They also enjoyed using the ideas acquired from understanding how electrical circuits work and applying that knowledge to make a glittering ‘movie theatre’ with wires, batteries and bulbs. The pictures are a snapshot of the results of their hard work. What a fun way to end both the academic year and  a summer term, which has gone by at breakneck speed.
