An update from the New ECAs at Senior School

We have had the privilege of adding two more Extra Curricular Activities this academic year – namely the Psych Club and BSC Uncut. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage in more varied ECAs and we are extremely grateful to Ms. Christina Brohier and Dr. Judith for their hard work behind the scenes.  

The main purpose of the Psych Club is to promote the general science of psychology and the mission is to encourage, promote, and build a greater understanding of the field of psychology throughout the student body at BSC whereas BSC Uncut Society allows students to explore and develop their storytelling and filmmaking abilities. Students learn the art of storytelling by exploring story arcs, plots, characters, as well as learn the process of how stories become films by studying screenwriting, directorial decisions, and postproduction.

BSC UNCUT  

Since January, the members of BSC Uncut have been busily brainstorming ideas every Friday for their very first short film. Having divided into pre-production, production, and post-production teams, group members have collaborated together to write their first screenplay. This week they are hosting internal auditions to select the film’s director. By the end of this term, they will finish casting for the film. The short film will then begin production in the summer term. Members hope to premiere their short film at the end of the school year in June.

The PSYCH CLUB 

Psych club gives students the opportunity to learn Psychology through a series of fun activities and interactive sessions. The club makes Psychology available for younger students allowing them to experience the subject. Additionally, we choose concepts that are outside of the traditional syllabus, exploring a variety of topics. Psychology is something that is integrated into our daily lives and learning about it is a fascinating way of perceiving the world around us differently. Currently, we are focusing on Criminal Psychology, learning about cold cases, criminal profiling and motives.
