In the Spotlight

As we come to the end of the Lent Term we look back and reflect on the memories and successful moments of our cricketing year so far of 2022/2023. We have all gone through a lot this academic year as a team and are truly grateful for the effort of our coaches Mr Aruna and Mr Eranga and especially to all the parents who are always there to support our team

BSC has performed very well in all encounters from the under 13/15 and 17 boys winning 80% of their matches overall which included friendly games and tournament matches but unfortunately rain and bad luck spoiled some of the vital stages of the tournaments.

The under 13 boys have made wonderful progress, winning most of their friendly matches against an array of schools but unfortunately got knocked out of the tournament as their match against Gateway got ruined by rain when Gateway were 29 runs for 3 wickets. A lot of positives as 10-year-old Tej Balendra Ramaswamy scored his first hundred against Asian International School. The under 15 team’s tournament started off with a thriller win against St Nicholas but once again rain spoiled their game against Lyceum which resulted in them not being able to continue forward in their tournament. The under 17 team had a great start to their tournament winning all the first-round matches including a record-breaking win against Asian International School but lost the quarterfinals once again due to rain.

This year to date has showed us cricket in BSC is reaching new heights with lots of new up and coming players with great potential. This would not be possible without the constant help and guidance from our coaches, the sports department and the school. I would like to thank all the cricketers of BSC for the unforgettable memories that we have made and look forward to future success for cricket teams of BSC.

Captain – James Graham
